6. New Contributions of the Dissertation
- New Contributions in Academic and Theoretical Aspects: The dissertation systematizes the theoretical foundations of digital transformation levels, clarifying basic concepts and the nature of digital transformation and its degree in SMEs. Specifically, it constructs a theoretical framework to analyze the key components (pillars) of digital transformation, defines evaluation criteria, and assesses the levels of digital transformation in SMEs. Additionally, the study establishes a theoretical framework and research model with hypotheses about factors influencing the degree of digital transformation in SMEs. The dissertation also identifies common forms of digital transformation currently adopted by enterprises, drawing practical lessons for SMEs in their digital transformation journey.
- New Findings in Practical Evaluation:
These analytical findings are highly valuable for SMEs both within the study area and nationwide, helping them to recognize and evaluate their own digital transformation progress. Furthermore, SME managers can identify which factors affect their digital transformation level and understand the magnitude and direction (positive or negative) of such effects. The dissertation provides an in-depth assessment of the current state of digital transformation and its degree in SMEs, as well as the existing policies and their effects on digital transformation within SMEs in Hanoi. Notably, it conducts quantitative research to identify the impacts of various factors influencing digital transformation levels in SMEs located in Hanoi.
- New Policy Recommendations and Proposed Solutions:
The dissertation proposes solutions aimed at enhancing digital transformation levels, controlling negative influencing factors, and promoting positive ones in SMEs in Hanoi.
These proposed solutions serve as valuable guidance for SMEs not only in Hanoi but across Vietnam, to strengthen their digital transformation processes and levels, thereby improving operational efficiency and competitiveness in the market.
